You don’t have to look very far to see that social media is simmering throughout the Westchester area. Businesses, organizations and individuals are broadcasting their messages through Twitter, Facebook, blogs and other forms of this new technology known as social media.

It is my belief that the time is right for a web site that has as its goal to promote the use of social media for the benefit of those who live and work in the Westchester area. A couple of weeks ago, the Westchester Social Media page was born on Facebook, and that page will be used along with this site for the publication of articles, links and other information related to social media.

Some of you are aware of my TwitterProfessor.com website that I have managed for the past year. Twitterprofessor.com has been great for promoting the Twitter community, but as the many facets of social media began to become more and more intertwined, it seemed appropriate to select a new site with a name that better reflected the the current mission.
